Trend of cereal crops production area and productivity, in Ethiopia

چکیده

Although Ethiopia is endowed with diverse agro-ecologies suitable for cereal production, the success of production relies more on climate condition. Therefore, this study initiated to analyze trends of; crops area and productivity in Ethiopia. Data meher season (qt/ha) (ha) were collected from Central statistical Agency (CSA) Trend test was carried out using non-parametric Mann-Kendall’s trend packaged XLstat. The result indicated that teff, wheat, maize, finger millet rice showed significant increasing trend. But only sorghum non-significant Moreover, Barley decreasing all trend, except which decreased non-significantly. Productivity significantly increased despite non- area. Similarly, Oat’s area; while rest (teff, rice) However, differently others: non-significantly production. Key words: Cereal crops, Analysis, productivity.
